New synthesizer

What you can hear is 2 oscillators based on the VCS3. The output of the oscillators goes to the incomprehensible resonator, which I describe below in the previous post.

The sound in this demo is a bit noisey, the synthesizer will become more musical when I add more modules, and the noisy sounds will form the percussive part of the sound. For this to work I am going to add LFOs based on optical pattern wheels. For the melodic sounds I am going to add an analogue FM synth tuned to African balafon scales.

Here is a photo of my incomprehensible resonator that I am working on

All-pass ladder filter

It is 2 all-pass ladder filters wired for chaos when they are oscillating or near oscillation (ringing). They each feedback to each other. There are a few circuits out there for chaotic oscillators, but I am trying to make a chaotic filter. Sounds good so far, very dirty. Will become part of my new synthesizer.

I have just started making a new synthesizer

Discrete VCO

EMS VCS3 VCO

This is just the first oscillator. The whole thing will be a big web of components, I am making it to perform, I will hang it up in front of me so the audience will be able to see me through it. The audio signal path will be all discrete transistor and vacuum tubes. I have just started and I don't know exactly how it will end up.

Delivered midi just intonation keyboard to Olof Dreijer from The Knife

midi just intonation keyboard keyboard back

He asked me to make a midi version of my Harmonicon. Electronically it is standard midi keyboard, so the output is just normal midi, the software deals with the note assignment and tuning.
